The costs associated with retiring in USA are astronomical, here in Ukraine, the cost of a kilowatt of electricity is 0 .04 of a US dollar, typically in USA it is $1.10, therefore, electricity here for an apartment of 700 square feet is about $4 dollars a month, while in USA is about $150 as an average, the cost of renting a 700 to 900 square feet apartment in USA averages $1,500 easily in any major city, here the rent of a 700 square feet apartment is around $200 monthly, dining out in USA will be 4 or 5 five times higher than in Ukraine and the restaurants here are awesome, the water is included in your rent, there are no real estate taxes, no intangible taxes, no taxes on services, transportation is about .08 cents per ride, no major disasters, no earthquakes or tornadoes, no terrorists, peacefulness and hospitable people, and the most incredible prices and quality on clothing and furniture, italian brand suites that I used to pay $1,500 and $1,800 in USA, are here about $400, same applies for dresses for ladies, jewelry is not expensive either, even the materials and workmanship on men and ladies shoes and other apparel garments are far superior that the ones in the states.
